About ICT
Information
Communication technology is embedded across the curriculum.
Each class also has an allocated taught ICT lesson to develop
the skills required in the areas of: communicating, handling
information, modelling, measuring and control. in the
National Curriculum. Assessment is carried out through tasks
across the curriculum and for some pupils the Entry Level
Certificate is available.
The school is
well equipped with ICT resources. The school is networked
throughout the teaching and admin areas of the school. Each
class has an interactive whiteboard as well as one networked
computer and one networked laptop and colour printer in each
classroom. The school has an ICT suite comprising of eight
networked computers, scanner and colour printer. A computer
club is run weekly for pupils.
The pupils are motivated by
computers and before used as a tool to reinforce subject skills
as well as computer skills. The focus is on developing
individual skills from keyboard and mouse skills to using the
Internet and creating databases, spreadsheets and designing
their own work. The pupils take part in visits to see how
technology is used in the community.
Pupils are taught and made
aware of Health and safety issues. Pupils are always supervised
when using the computers. |
