About Waddon Youth Club
On Tuesday
afternoons the children have the opportunity to attend an after
school youth club. The club is run by professional youth workers
in one of the London Borough of Croydon’s purpose built centres.
The twenty or so pupils from the Link are joined weekly by
children from a couple of other local schools for children with
a disability.
The club runs
on the same lines as any other youth club; providing snooker,
basketball, table tennis, computers, sitting area and a weekly
programme of activities which is put together by the children.
The activities range from arts and crafts, Tai Chi and pancake
making to off-site trips canoeing or to the local bowling alley.
The club also runs holiday projects as well as taking the
children away both at home and abroad.
Apart from
enjoying the activities listed above the children enjoy
attending a club which allows them to be more responsible for
themselves and to have something in common with their mainstream
peers.
